Introduction of Melamine

Melamine (chemical formula: C3H6N6), commonly known as miamine, protein essence, IUPAC named "1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamino", is a triazine nitrogen-containing heterocyclic organic compounds, which is used as a chemical raw material. It is white monoclinic crystal, almost odourless, slightly soluble in water (3.1g/L at room temperature), soluble in methanol, formaldehyde, acetic acid, hot ethylene glycol, glycerol, pyridine, etc., insoluble in acetone, ether, harmful to the body, and not to be used in food processing or food additives. Melamine is a trimer of aminocyanine, and the resin made from it releases a large amount of nitrogen when heated to decomposition, so it can be used as a flame retardant. Main Uses of Melamine

Melamine resin can be produced by condensation and polymerisation with formaldehyde, which can be used in the plastics and coating industry, and can also be used as textile anti-folding and anti-shrinkage treatment agent. Its modified resin can be used to make brightly coloured, durable and hard metal coatings.
